TCS Light Casing
TCS Light tubeless tires feature one layer of casing to minimize rotational weight while simultaneously increasing the overall liveliness of a tire. Using a single layer of casing results in a gram-conscious tire that better conforms to any terrain and increases traction without the need for excessive knob heights that would reduce efficiency. Many of our TCS Light gravel tires feature SG2, which is our unique puncture protection technology that provides bead-to-bead coverage to ensure both the tread and sidewall are protected from slashes and punctures.
Black or tan sidewalls
It`s nice to have options, which is why most of our gravel tires are available with either black or tan sidewalls. Traditional black sidewalls tend to blend in with the components and wheels of a bike and may look sleeker in the eyes of some riders. WTB tanwall tires blend retroesque looks with modern technology to create an iconic look that has become synonymous with high-performance gravel. Looks aside, gram counters may choose our tan tires because the compounds used to make them are slightly lighter than those used to manufacture black sidewalls.

Cross Boss Tyre

My Freespirit Contour hardtail mtb is in her second year sadly despite being a good bike has children’s spec forks resulting in a destroyed front wheel from riding on broken tar / asphalt . Had a spare set of GT mtb 700C wheels so now has a 700C front and a 27.5 rear. The rear original Kenda tyre is a copy of more expensive makes so WTB came to my rescue with the Cross Boss tyre as it has a very similar pattern to the Kenda as the road tyre on the front was giving the bike the feeling of biking on ice, that’s now sorted with the new tyre from WTB. After trying the Michelin Cyclo Cross Mud 2 no longer like these tyres as the cyclo cross tyres were puncturing with every ride so far the WTB tyre hasn’t. This is my first tubeless tyre so meant a tube was fitted a 43C tube from CST / Raleigh. Wrong I know yet the tyre works fine. The real test will be wet Scottish roads! Really like the tread on this tyre as normally fit trekking slicks or urban slicks so this is a completely new tread for me to try. So far cannot complain about the grip and handling, sadly could only find one for sale. Before you ask the bike will be properly converted front and rear to matching wheels . As a brand like it because have developed a liking for GT bikes which now use WTB branded components so have no trust issues with this brand. So if it’s good enough for GT then it’s good enough for me! Love the logo, smart and clever too. A puncture proof layer would be handy in this tyre!

Great race/trail tire

I am currently running my second pair of these tires; the first pair I had a sudden sidewall split in the middle of a bike tour, likely due to the extremely rocky conditions. Luckily I had a tube, and most riders probably aren't going to subject their cross bike to the quasi-mountain biking that I do. My second pair has lasted me >2 years, but at this point, one of the tires (rear) is showing evidence of leaking sealant through the sidewalls, and I can't hold above 30 PSI before it blows through the interface of the valve core with the rim (I've tried repeatedly resealing, to no luck). I used these tires for both racing and riding on gravel/trails. Good stuff.

Pros:
Seats easily
Good grip
Lighweight
Looks awesome with those tan sidewalls

Cons:
A real pain to get off once the tire is seated, but why are you taking them off
Leakage through sidewalls after >2 years of use

Great dry condition tire

I've used these for about 500 miles now and I'm happy with them. They grip well in dry conditions, but I have to be really careful in loose gravel. Like the other reviews I've also had an issue with one of my tires sealing. You can tell that the sealant is working it's way right through the sidewalls. On top of that, when I first mounted the tires, they took about 6 months and a couple hundred miles to stop leaking sealant in two spots.
