*WTB's tire pressure recommendations have changed over time due to further developments in technology. Riders may always reference the markings on their tires for allowed pressures ranges, but may also consult wtb.com for the most up-to-date tire pressure recommendations from WTB. We calculate pressure recommendations based on an average rider weight of 160-180 lbs and suggest increasing our minimum recommended pressure on WTB.com by 2-3psi for every additional 10 lbs of rider weight. Never exceed the maximum tire pressure marked on a tire.
Frequently Asked Questions
Wider rims will cause a tire to also have a wider width, with more air volume within the tire and a flatter tire tread profile than designed for. As a general rule of thumb, a 2mm increase or decrease of inner rim width will result in a tire section width increase or decrease of 1mm. For example, our Nano 40 tire has a tire section width of 40mm on a 21mm inner rim width, however it will have a tire section width of 41mm on a 23mm inner rim width.
All CZR i30 front wheels feature hubs with 15mm end caps, but CZR i23 front wheels are assembled using Frequency hubs with 12x100mm front wheel spacing. However, we also sell a 15mm end cap kit on our Replacement Hub Parts page for riders with forks that require the use of a 15mm axle, such as Lauf forks. Swapping the end caps does not require any special tools.
CZR i23 rims feature a hooked bead because doing so provides a more dependable connection between the tire and rim when running a tire at the higher air pressures that are common with adventure road and gravel riding. CZR i30 rims feature a hookless bead because the smooth bead surface allows for more material to be used in an area when strength is incredibly important. Both CZR i23 and CZR i30 rims are compatible with any tires that comply with ETRTO standards.
Asymmetrical rims feature a "short" and "long" side. It is helpful to always mount both sides of the tire onto the rim on the "short side" of the rim. The short side of the rim provides the shortest distance between the rim leg/bead and the valley of the rim. Once the first tire bead is completely on the rim, it can be pulled over the rubber portion of the valve and positioned at the deepest part of the rim valley. The other side of the tire can then be installed onto the rim with the least amount of resistance.

At the heart of CGR wheels are WTB’s new race-tested and World Cup-proven Frequency 7X hubs. These state-of-the-art hubs feature a refined ratchet-ring drive system that sets a new standard in performance and reliability.
Refined Ratchet-Ring Drive
All WTB ratchets use a DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon coating) to deliver greater hardness and significantly lower friction than traditional hard chrome-plated drive systems. To build on this durability, the inner (hub side) ratchet ring keys into place with splines rather than threads, allowing the hubs to withstand over twice the torque of traditional designs without requiring specialist tools for servicing.
Durable Enduro Bearings
Frequency 7X hubs use larger than typical Enduro bearings throughout, including durable freehub bearings that increase the load rating by up to 38% compared with competing rear hubs. This creates a stiffer axle assembly, improving reliability and reducing maintenance intervals. The hubs are fully sealed and rigorously tested to keep dirt and moisture out, making the Frequency 7X hubs ready for long days and demanding conditions.
